Pointy, icy, classic. Looks more glamorous from Switzerland than Italy (where the mountain is known as Cervino).
Synopsis
Famous for appearing on various chocolate bar wrappers and Swiss souvenirs. The Matterhorn's east face would be a cool ski descent if it didn't stop well below the summit. Under ideal conditions, the mandatory 150m air off the summit onto the east face will likely be completed.
