Description

Ben Manfredi once said of the North Face Northwest ridge (NFNWR), "If I could only ski one route every year, this would be it." Possibly the first person to descend it, his bias does not detract from its appeal. From the Pinnacle, the route quickly transitions into a convex, commonly rimed slope. Near a rock band mid-route you have an option of continuing on the more moderate Northwest Ridge or the steeper NFNWR. If you commit, it is important to have either climbed or scouted the rockband and exit onto the Adams Glacier. The route's northwest aspect makes it ideal to descend mid to late afternoon. Best skied during a heat wave.
